The Ten Second Guide to the Tenner Treat: Bath Pizza Co

Welcome to a new series on Sal’s Kitchen! The Great Bath Feast is Bath’s annual celebration of eating and drinking and, unsurprisingly, the highlight of my year. To celebrate this year’s Feast, I’m going to be posting bite-sized reviews of some of the best meals available as part of the Great Bath Feast’s Tenner Treat, a collection of brilliant £10 offers from different Bath restaurants.

Where is it? Green Park Station, click here for the website.

What’s on offer? A choice of three different pizzas (Margherita, Pepperoni or Marinara), plus a pint of beer, glass of prosecco or soft drink.

Is it any good? The pizza is excellent – a really good thin, chewy crust, with generous well-flavoured toppings. I chose a Margherita, which had a great tomato sauce and plenty of mozzarella, and my dining companion picked the Pepperoni, which was a bit too meaty for me but which he really enjoyed.

Why this place? Tucked under the huge vaulted roof of the old Green Park Station, the Bath Pizza Co has the feel of a pavement café somewhere on the continent, with its wooden screens, potted palms and strings of old-fashioned lights. It’s a great spot, particularly when the long shared tables are really buzzing, and you can also watch your pizzas being cooked in their huge authentic wood-fired oven.

Marks out of 10? 8. The pizza was pretty good, but it would have been nice to have a more exciting choice of toppings. Also, this offer is actually available all year round – so whilst it’s a really good one to know about, it’s less of a priority to get to this one during the Great Bath Feast.
