Welcome to my blog! Here you’ll find all my latest recipes, plus write-ups of all my latest foodie discoveries, from great restaurants to delicious new ingredients. Once upon a time, I was a fussy kid and a fussy teenager, and it wasn’t until I went to live in Paris for a year as part of my university degree that I really got into food. France doesn’t tolerate fussy eaters – the chef knows more about food than you so you let him or her tell you what to eat. It blew my mind a bit and I got addicted to trying new things. It was such a buzz to discover that being fussy was actually just all in my head, and that there were all these great dishes and ingredients I could enjoy. When I came back to England I set about teaching myself to cook and I started the blog as a place to share my recipes. I found that I had a talent for it and soon I was getting such good feedback I wondered if I could turn it into a job. Now I work for myself full time.
As a digital marketing consultant, I work with independent businesses, helping them to use blogs and content as marketing tools. I specialise in developing, writing and photographing recipes, but I don’t just work with food companies – if you’ve got an interesting story, I want to help you tell it. I’m passionate about blogging and social media as low-cost, super effective marketing, and my services range from doing it for you to teaching you how to do it yourself. For more on my writing services and on my workshops and one-to-one coaching, visit the Business Services page.
In addition to all of the above, I also run a Twitter community, #bathindiechat, dedicated to supporting and promoting Bath’s independent businesses. I’m a proud adopted Bathonian and I’m constantly inspired by the city’s indie scene, which is a huge part of what makes it special. If you own or work for an independent business in Bath, then follow me on Twitter for more information about how I can help you!
